Topanga Acupuncture, Bodywork, & Chiropractic is a long-standing staple in the Topanga Canyon community. Established in 1989 by Nancy Marcucella DC, L.Ac after spending years learning the crafts of acupuncture and chiropractic work and working in the US and Italy in sports medicine, she decided it was time to create a clinical pocket of her own in a place that felt like home. 30 years later, Nancy is a veritable force to be reckoned with. Her mission? Providing top-notch integrative healthcare to individuals ready to make a change.

Massage

Massage is often an integral technique when dealing with chronic musculoskeletal issues in terms of retraining the muscles and correcting alignment and overall posture. We are proud to work with the following individuals in providing the best personal wellness and pain management services we can to the greater area of Los Angeles. All of our therapists are LMTs or CMTs (licensed or certified massage therapists) with many years of experience and extensive knowledge of the healing process.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a lighter massage technique that puts greater emphasis on bone and joint alignment by targeting the circulation of cerebral spinal fluid. For more details, please visit the FAQs at the Upledger Institute’s website, here. 

Dina Fraboni – Dina specializes in craniosacral therapy, both as a practitioner and as an advanced level instructor. A typical session is 90 minutes, though sometimes less, depending on the health issue in question.

Thermography

PRICING

Given the nature of the type of work our practice specializes in, with the exception of massage and craniosacral sessions, we do not have standard fees. Often, when patients visit us, there’s a range of clinical intensity that we gauge cost on based on the severity of the issue at hand, the number of times a patient may need to come in, and what specifically needs to be done during those visits. However, we do have ranges so that individuals may know what to expect, roughly, when they see us.

**Please note that if we are working on LIEN either through Worker’s Compensation or Personal Injury, these fees often do not hold, as these patients often require significantly more time. For more information, please feel free to contact us via phone or email.

Full treatments – $90-$150

Includes some combination of the following: acupuncture, moxa, chiropractic, physical therapy modalities (e-stim, ultrasound), heat/cold therapy, cupping, physical therapy exercises, quick nutritional coaching session,

Acupuncture/Electroacupuncture only

$60-$125

can include moxa and/or heat/cold

For those with insurance policies interested in billing, here is some information you should know:

We do not belong to any insurance network but if you have a PPO plan we can submit claims on your behalf. We are only able to work with PPO plans that cover acupuncture and chiropractic services. It is helpful if you know if your plan includes chiropractic and/or acupuncture benefits but if you don’t know we can help you find out.

In most cases, if the above criteria are met and the deductible has been satisfied, we are able to work with insurance. There are situations where there are better results when we submit super-bills on your behalf though, most notably with Blue Shield and Anthem Blue Cross plans. If such is the case, you will be expected to pay in full at the time of your visit and you will be reimbursed by your insurance company directly.

Here is a rough list of the insurance companies we have worked with successfully over the years, followed by a list of who we’re rarely able to bill successfully, if ever:

YES — AETNA, United Healthcare, Medicare (not Medicare Advantage),  Motion Picture Health, Writers Guild of America, Directors Guild, SAG/AFTRA, Anthem Blue Cross.

NO — any HMO or EPO plan, Kaiser, HealthNet, Medicaid, MediCal, American Specialty Health/ASH (used by Blue Shield and Cigna)

If you do not see your company listed and you have a PPO plan that covers acupuncture and chiropractic, we’re always happy to bill for you and see what happens.

HOURS

Our hours vary somewhat, but in general, we are in the clinic Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8am and 6pm.  Massage is available 7 days a week.
